Fragile and unsuitable items

Fosse Lane does not ship fragile items such as porcelain, glass, china or pictures because suitable courier insurance is unavailable. Buyers may arrange their own specialist courier. Large, heavy or unusually shaped lots may also require collection or a separate courier arrangement.

Common questions

Buying at Fosse Lane.

Can I bid in person?

No. Our weekly sales are timed online auctions hosted through Easy Live Auction. The auction house is open for viewing before the sale closes, but bids must be placed online.

Why do lots close at different times?

The catalogue closes sequentially rather than all at once. Closing starts from 2pm on Sunday, with each lot ending in catalogue order.

Can somebody else collect for me?

Contact the team in advance and make the appropriate booking. We may require confirmation that the person collecting is authorised to receive your purchases.

Can every lot be posted?

No. Shipping depends on fragility, dimensions, weight and available courier cover. Check the lot information and contact us before bidding if delivery is essential.
